Complete setup instructions for Google Analytics 4 and Search Console

1Google Analytics 4 Setup

Step 1: Create GA4 Property

  1. Go to analytics.google.com
  2. Click Admin (bottom left gear icon)
  3. Click "Create Property"
  4. Enter property name: "Your Body Shield"
  5. Set timezone and currency to USD
  6. Click "Next" and select your business category: "Shopping"
  7. Choose business size and click "Create"

Step 2: Get Your Measurement ID

  1. In Admin → Data Streams
  2. Click "Add stream" → Web
  3. Enter website URL: https://yourbodyshield.com
  4. Enter stream name: "Your Body Shield Website"
  5. Click "Create stream"
  6. Copy your Measurement ID (format: G-XXXXXXXXXX)

Next Step:

Once you have your Measurement ID (G-XXXXXXXXXX), contact your developer to add the GA4 tracking script to your website's HTML head section.

Step 3: Enable Enhanced Measurement

  1. In your data stream settings
  2. Scroll to "Enhanced measurement"
  3. Toggle ON (this tracks: page views, scrolls, outbound clicks, site search, video engagement, file downloads)

Step 1: Add Property

  1. Go to search.google.com/search-console
  2. Click "Add property"
  3. Choose "URL prefix" method
  4. Enter: https://yourbodyshield.com
  5. Click "Continue"

Step 2: Verify Ownership

Choose one verification method:

Recommended

HTML Tag Method

  1. Google will provide a meta tag like: <meta name="google-site-verification" content="...">
  2. Contact your developer to add this tag to your website's HTML head section
  3. Click "Verify" in Search Console

Alternative: Domain Name Provider

Add a TXT record to your domain's DNS settings (requires access to domain registrar)

Step 3: Submit Sitemap

  1. After verification, go to "Sitemaps" in the left menu
  2. Enter sitemap URL: https://yourbodyshield.com/sitemap.xml
  3. Click "Submit"
